Southampton Guildhall, 19th November 2004. When everything is louder than everything else !
The doors were not open at 6.45 so I and mate Steve ( lead guitarist/vocals of Alice's
Mirror) headed off to the Fat Cat. After a beer we headed back and hey the doors
were still not open so back to the pub and by now more Motorhead fans had got
the same idea. Come on a Rock gig with no beer, eventually we got in and got a
bottle of Carling by the T shirt stand, I got a decent `Motorhead/England` one.
Then off to the bar for more beer. When Sepultura came on they got a good
reception and a lot of the fans had come specifically to see the band. The
crowed were a mix of the new breed of rock/thrash/dark fans and the more
traditional rockers/bikers, a good mix though.

| Too much beer at the gig, it took me ages to
recover on Saturday, woke up to find Saints lost to F*ckin Norwich.... |
Sepultura fans were at the gig in their
numbers ! |
Sepultura did a decent set and I must admit to
not being able to recognize which track was which not having any of their
stuff but it went down very very well and in two sets. Anyway more beer
through out the set then it was the main event...Motorhead.

| Where is the band? |
Nice lighting ! |
Motorhead were exactly what you expect, loud,
fast, louder and just like the 70s, 80s. Some of my favorite tracks they
played were Ace of Spades, Motorhead, Dancing on your grave, Overkill, and
Lemmy still had the presence on stage with his classic stance at the
microphone giving it ` I don't want to live for ever`...
I got some head banging in while trying not to spill the beer, but others
just threw their drinks in the air...and T shirts etc...well that rock and
roll.
This gig was tops and you have to hand it to em, a good sound, great
selection of tracks but no return to the stage after last track and the
lights came straight back on to reveal motorhead reeling from the volume
or the drink....or like me both..
